The ScanVein Compact ScanVein Compact — the palm vein scanner introduced A new iCOGNIZE palm vein scanner for biometric access control, and a real gain over systems such as fingerprint or PIN. Multi-factor authentication with a card (MIFARE DESFire / LEGIC advant) together with palm vein biometrics reaches a very high level of security, including by comparison with face recognition and similar methods. Worth pointing out is the GDPR-compliant design, which through a split-template method is used in large corporations as well. The ScanVein Compact also introduces the new two-wire transmission technology 2CON into the product line: a network without network cabling, over two conductors, across long distances and carrying the power supply as well. Lenhardt in the vlog VLOG #2 — the BioBiDA research project iCOGNIZE carried out research together with Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences in the project “BioBiDA – Biometrics and Big Data”. The aim was to run queries against large biometric data sets in real time during biometric identification. The project (HA project no. 594/18-17) is funded under the Hessen innovation programme from LOEWE funds – the state initiative for the development of scientific and economic excellence, funding line 3: SME joint projects. The collaboration produced a form of illumination for face and finger vein recognition that had not existed before and improves marketability. The project grew the company’s knowledge and experience, laying the ground for extending the product portfolio to finger vein and face recognition in databases of more than 10,000 people.
